DATA ARCHITECT

Location is Ft. Wayne, IN

 

Candidate should have no less than 8 years of Information Systems experience in full life cycle data warehousing development, including business discovery/road mapping, Data and ETL architectures including phased rollouts of large scale data warehouse infrastructure and applications, extensive data modeling from a business and functional perspective, and supporting and leading large development and project teams.  Candidate should also have the ability to operate independently with minimal direction.  Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to mentor others on dimensional design techniques.  Strong hands-on experience emphasized with this position:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience in creating clear data assessment document, integration architecture design, and implementation planning
• Knowledge and experience in design of data warehouse architectures for reporting solutions and Business Intelligence (BI) applications that are scalable and high performance
• Experience in designing data models (logical and physical) to support reporting and analysis.
• Knowledge of industry standard dimensional design techniques
• Database development experience in one or more market-leading database systems, preferably Oracle.
• Knowledge and experience in Business Objects or Crystal reports reporting tools, utilizing both relational and multi-dimensional tool architectures.
• Outstanding customer relationship skills; quickly learner and can apply new concepts.
• Must have completed several Business Intelligence project life-cycles.
• Strong in data modeling (Normalization, Star Schema, etc
• Strong in data architecture (Data Warehousing, Data Marts, Staging)
• Experience in a (or multiple) CASE tools (Erwin, etc.).
• Mentor Architects, technical team leads and Software Engineers in BI-related architectural issues and best practices.
