Description:
The successful candidate for the Senior SQL Database Administrator is to provide implementation best practices for the company's SQL platforms to ensure maximum performance, reliability and security for the enterprise applications and sites. This person will be responsible for implementing, turning, and maintaining the SQL server platforms for mission-critical applications. Performance, system uptime, security, monitoring, capacity planning and scalability are primary objectives to deliver highly available applications and sites for the business. Others include designing and building high-volume relational databases, code development (triggers, stored procedures), disaster recovery and backup strategies. The position provides technical expertise in support of all business and IT sponsored projects.
- Candidates will have 6-10+ years of SQL server development and database administration experience with an emphasis on performance turning and high availability for SQL server
- Demonstrated proficiency in SQL Server database administration, data modeling, T-SQL, PLSQL, and XML
- Experience supporting 2000/2005/2008 High Availability SQL Server Environments to include Clustered solutions
- Experience building and supporting multi-data center replication and supporting technologies
- Experience in supporting web based, mission critical applications including logical and physical database design, development, and performance turning and change management
- Expertise in analyzing and troubleshooting disk, memory and CPU specific performance issues on high volume OLTP servers
- Expertise in best practices on SQL server with SQL scripting automation to support production, QA, and development SQL environments.
- Expertise in SQL server installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, and outstanding oral and written communication skills
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent
