GENERAL SUMMARY
Sr. Software Quality Assurance Manager to provide strong quality focused leadership within our next-generation messaging and social media platform Harmony SQA team. This person will drive testing strategy decisions and implementation to ensure a quality product delivery that will meet or exceed customer expectations. As part of the overall Harmony team this person will be working with peers and management to ensure the continuous integration of our SaaS based version 1.0+ product and ensure a 24/7 customer experience up time. This leader will have strong communication skills and will be able to provide adequate data to prove testing coverage that supports agreed upon company product testing metrics for both manual and automation testing. Knowledge of working in a cross matrix Agile environment with both local and remote teams is a necessity. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Quality for Harmony.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Drive testing strategies that support company product and quality goals
• Direct motivate and develop staff through coaching and mentoring so as to maximize their individual contributions, professional growth and ability to function effectively as a team
• Work collaboratively with peers to improve predictability, delivery quality and efficiency across the Harmony QA organization
• Manager a team of 5 – 8 Software Quality Assurance manual and automation testers
• Actively participate and contribute to our continuous improvement initiative and influence others to continuously innovate and improve processes, tools, and skill sets
• Participate in the leadership of our automation suites that use tools such as Java, Junit, Selenium, Spring Framework, Cucumber, or other tools such as TIBCO Business Works
• Keep current with SQA technology, tools, and automation best practices
• Develop solutions to difficult problems, which may require ingenuity and creativity.
• Provide sound decision making for software engineering and product development, sensitive to the constraints and needs of the business. Influence future product/portfolio direction.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
• 7+ years Managing a Software Quality Assurance test team
• Must be able to communicate (written, orally and through presentations) at all levels of management.
• Ability to escalate appropriately; raise your hand when you recognize a situation that is not headed for success
• Candidate must be independent thinker and self-starter and able to apply logic in stressful critical situations.
• Practical knowledge and work experience in a SaaS based environment that incorporates multiple product integrations in a high reliability environment
• Ability to affect results by bringing a positive, ‘can do’ attitude and educational approach to ensure even external teams have the same attention to quality
• Ability to take charge and initiative beyond team boundaries to ensure a cohesive testing approach across a suite of SaaS based services.
• Solid experience in managing automation development using test automation tools and java based test frameworks such as Junit, TestNG, Selenium, Spring Framework, SoapUI and Cucumber.
• Understanding and experience in testing service oriented architecture designs (SOA) especially RESTFul services.
• Experience in testing multi-tier web applications and knowledge of software testing best practices
• Solid level of proficiency in all necessary processes and tools within QA.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• A basic understanding of SQL and knowledge of No SQL a plus
• Skills in data warehouse methodology; data analysis, modeling and design; and ETL testing all a plus
• Good understanding of digital marketing technologies required, experience with Epsilon’s product line a plus.
• Bachelors degree required; CS preferred
