Dev Ops Eng

6 Month Contract

Rate: 55.00/hr C2C

 

Ideal candidate will have come from a development or database administrator background.  CHEF is REQUIRED.  Chef is a configuration management tool written in Ruby and Erlang. It uses a pure-Ruby, domain-specific language (DSL) for writing system configuration "recipes". Chef is used to streamline the task of configuring and maintaining a company's servers, and can integrate with cloud-based platforms such as Rackspace, Internap, Amazon EC2, Google Cloud Platform, OpenStack, SoftLayer, and Microsoft Azure to automatically provision and configure new machines.

 

Key Skills:

1) 3-5 years configuration management and engineering for large scale applications (both Linux + Windows environments)

2) Ruby scripting and CHEF - REQUIRED

3) Deep understanding of version control systems (TFS, Git, etc.), including branching and merging strategies

4) Experience with software build tools (Maven) and continuous integration tools (Jenkins)

5) Experience working with cloud platforms (EC2, Rackspace Open Cloud, etc.) and cloud automation tools

• Understanding of SQL and Oracle database configurations

• Understanding of DNS, Active Directory and AGILE development process

Dev Ops Engineer Duties

•             Help us create Dev Ops culture

•             Systems Trouble shooting

•             Work closely with Dev teams + Project managers to implement new services

•             Help manage private cloud infrastructure
