Summary:

Video Infrastructure, Security, and Engineering (VISE) is looking for a Software Engineer to develop and maintain a suite of automated integration tests. This candidate would join our talented software development and operations team, Content Engineering, Development, and Research (CEDAR). You will be working on one of our teams focused on agile software development and on growth of our Content Delivery Network (CDN) solution. This position requires excellent technical and people skills. We are looking for a Software Engineer who is passionate about programming and quality.

CEDAR is a DevOps team which uses an agile methodology. You should be comfortable participating in a high performance, cross-functional team whose vibrant members are rich in technical and soft skills. The ability to communicate effectively with Software Engineers, Product Analysts, and QA testers is a must.

Primary Responsibilities:

·         Assess testing needs for end-to-end CDN integration

·         Implement automated test suites within existing E2E test framework

·         Attend daily scrums

·         Attend sprint planning and retrospectives

·         Demonstrate delivered test suites at sprint demonstrations

Requirements:

·         Proficiency with Python (2.7 or higher preferred)

·         Robot-Framework experience

·         Working knowledge of Unix/Linux

·         Working knowledge of storage technologies and HTTP/TCP

·         Testing/Integration- test plans and integration support

·         High quality expectation- you will be the sanity check against the developers

·         Ability to dig in and push developers to explain "how it works". Must be willing to push back

·         Technical problem solving skills

·         Strong computer science or software engineering background

·         BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering

Should have:

·         Jenkins experience

·         Working knowledge of Apache and Apache Traffic Server (ATS)

Nice to have:

·         Agile/scrum development life cycle experience

·         Rally Experience

·         Familiarity with Cable TV, IP Video, and CDN

·         Knowledge of IP Video streaming

·         Minimum 5 years of software development experience in the real world
