Job Description:
The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that Actuarial pricing tools projects are managed with high quality to on-time, on-budget and in-scope completion. In this capacity he/she works in collaboration with the business unit and IT sponsors to establish project goals and success criteria. He/she will plan out and oversee deliverables, identify/resolve risks and issues, and track/report status, and communicate with stakeholders and cross functional teams.
The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that Actuarial pricing tools projects are managed with high quality to on-time, on-budget and in-scope completion. In this capacity he/she works in collaboration with the business unit and IT sponsors to establish project goals and success criteria. He/she will plan out and oversee deliverables, identify/resolve risks and issues, and track/report status, and communicate with stakeholders and cross functional teams.
Specific Accountabilities:
Champion projects and manage the initiatives successfully through all phases within the given constraints time, budget, scope and quality
Be the primary point of contact and accountable for delivery of all Pricing Tool projects within Global Information Services (GIS) organization.
Follow all established processes related to requirements gathering, architecture, development, testing and cutover to various environments including production environment.
Work with GIS Governance lead to ensure project compliance to processes, scope, budget and timelines
Define project goals, success criteria and expectations with stakeholders
Create and manage a realistic and credible project plan with buy-in from all resources involved and the business sponsor; this includes definition/tailoring of an appropriate project lifecycle
Negotiate project deliverables, milestones and target dates
Responsible for appropriate team staffing and collaboration in a matrix organization with globally distributed teams
Establish and continuously facilitate appropriate communication amongst the stakeholders and teams, ensure clarity on goals, priorities and concrete responsibilities for all team members.
Establish and conform to consistent project risk management and change control processes
Responsible for the project to comply with IT and data architectural standards, performance standards, and business continuity and disaster recovery requirements
Work closely with the support teams to manage the transition and warranty period
Monitor and control the project during execution, including regular performance reports
Provide regular status reports to senior management and be responsive to management requests for information.
Provide inputs to program level status reports.

Experience/Skills Required:
Minimum of 7 years experience in delivery of IT, large scale development and delivery projects
Experience in the insurance/reinsurance industry
Experience in managing teams that consist of company employees and outside vendors
Very strong communication, negotiation, analytical and problem solving skills
Follow a well structured mode of operation, including detailed project planning with the appropriate level of detail
Proven track record in delivering projects on-time, on-budget and in-scope
Experience in managing projects in a global, matrix environment
Knowledge of software development life cycle methodologies and best practices
High level of proficiency in Microsoft tools – MS Project, Power point, Excel and Word
