Job Title: Software QA Analyst –Urgent & Immediate Interview

Location : 300 South Park Place Blvd., Suite 100, Clearwater, FL

Summary

·         Responsible for writing test plans, test scripts, scrub reports, test reports, submitting defects, performing test execution and validation, and reporting on all assigned projects.

·         The SQA Engineer works within Client defined Agile test and validation methodologies and best practices to ensure that all Client produced solutions meet or exceed company quality standards.

·         The SQA Engineer may be assigned multiple tasks and/or projects, and will be expected to work in a fast-paced multi-dimensional work environment under general supervision, and must possess excellent inter-personal, written, and verbal communication skills.

·         Individual should have a good understanding of the Windows Operating System 32 and 64 bit environment where as it pertains to communicating to peripheral devices and using network / simulator tools for testing peripheral devices (ie., POS Pinpad terminals).

·         Working knowledge of Linux Operating System directory structure.

·         Understanding of different COMM types such as TCPIP, Serial, USB, WiFi.

·         Basic knowledge of XML.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Maintain compliance with VeriFone's policies, procedures and methodologies for product quality and solution validation.

·         Effectively write and execute test plans, test scripts, defects, scrub reports and test reports on assigned projects and tasks.

·         Provide support and testing for EMV certification, knowledge of Collis Test Tool & EMV desirable.

·         Perform manual testing and solution validation as required by the assigned project or task.

·         Ability to run tests with XML inputs and read XML outputs.

·         Ability to read log files at an application and OS layer levels.

·         Effectively apply critical thinking and troubleshooting skills to efficiently identify the cause and effect of software and/or hardware related issues.

·         Work closely with development, system engineers, tier teams, off shore QA team(s), off shore development team(s) and customers where applicable.

·         Flexibility with hours during certification testing cycles.

 Knowledge & Experience:

·         3-5 years of experience in software quality assurance software/product validation.

·         3-5 years of experience in Manual software testing.

·         5+ years of experience with Windows operating system.

·         Basic understanding of Linux Operating System directory structure.

·         Basic understanding of XML.

·         POS Industry knowledge desired.

·         Strong verbal, written, and communication skills.

·         Flexible to work overtime when needed for mission critical customer projects and/or field issues.

Education:

·         Two or four year degree in Computer Science or a related field

·         Responsible for both manual and automated solution validation as required by the assigned project or task.

·         Effectively apply critical thinking and troubleshooting skills to efficiently identify the cause and effect of software and/or hardware related issues.

·         Ability to translate and align functional and non-functional product requirements into applicable test cases.

·         Ability to troubleshoot complex functional and non-functional software and hardware issues.

·         Ability to rapidly and clearly communicate issues, options, benefits, priorities, and recommendations to technical team members and management.

               

Skills & Ability:

·         Ability to program or script in (any or all languages): Perl, VB6, C++, Java, HTML, .NET

·         Ability to work in a fast paced environment with high customer/revenue driven requirements and quarterly deliverables.

·         Able to work and achieve results in an international/multi-cultural environment, with team mates located across several countries and time zones.

·         Able to balance multiple competing priorities and tasks simultaneously.

·         Excellent organization, prioritization, and documentation skill.

·         Strong listening skills.

·         Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills; excellent computer skills.

·         Demonstrated ability to work within a global team.

·         Able to travel as needed to US and International Client offices, design centers, and customer locations (minimal if needed - 10%)      

Education:

·         AS degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Knowledge & Experience:

·         1-2 years of experience in software test /product validation.

·         3+ years of experience with Windows, Linux, IBM and/or Apple operating systems.

·         Familiarity with network packet analysis tools, such as Wireshark.

·         Familiarity with XML and XML schemas as a data transport and storage mechanism.

·         Knowledge of software defect tracking tools, such as Bugzilla, Jira, or ClearQuest.

·         Knowledge of software source code control tools, such as GIT, CVS, SVN, or VSS.

·         Knowledge as an advanced user of Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Office.

·         Experience in the payment systems or point of sale industry or markets that use this technology is a plus.
