Location:- Windsor Mills,MD

Duration:- 6+ month

 

Position Description

 

The Data Analyst shall have senior level experience and expertise conducting system analysis of complex data sets for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).  Identifies new opportunities to data-drive business processes and business decisions. Identifies new types of data sources with value and differentiation potential. Uses and applies predictive models and other data analytics to assist in identifying business risks and opportunities for business process improvements. 

 

Roles and Responsibilities

·         Conduct data manipulations within CMS, so that any data manipulation being done to bring data into MDM, stored into MDM and presented out of MDM, will be assured and validated by the MDM Data Analyst.

·         Develop and support data analysis initiatives requested by CMS and other Stakeholders across various data domains such as Medicare & Medicaid Providers, Medicare & Medicaid Beneficiaries and Marketplace Consumers.

·         Support CMS with ad-hoc data requests and proof of concepts, and work with MDM leads to maintain high data quality.

·         Efficiently manipulate XML and other standard file formats, build and maintain temporary databases and data structures necessary to analyze and troubleshoot issues with current and planned data sources.  

·         Analyze and evaluate incoming data from many disparate data sources, to inform data modeling and ETL design decisions for large data integration projects.

·         Ensure that the MDM program and operation retains proper data domain knowledge across data and business analysis resources. 

·         Interpret data linkages, hierarchies, sequencing, and nuances in new data sources.

·         Provide inputs on complex data modeling and database design and development efforts.

Required Education and Experience

·         Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

·         5 years' experience with the following critical skills:

o    Advanced SQL programming skills to conduct and adept ad hoc queries and customize report writing.

o    Advanced experience in developing graphs, ad hoc reports, and presentations of project results.

o    Expertise in identifying, analyzing and interpreting trends or patterns in complex data sets.

o    Demonstrated effective skills and understanding of Business Intelligence and Big Data and Analytics

 

Desired Education and Experience

 

·         Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, or Computer Engineer In-depth experience applying various statistical methods, formulas, and tools.

·         Experience in data mining techniques and procedures.

·         Beneficiary, Provider and/or Program Organization Relationship CMS domain data expertise

·         Health Care Industry and/or CMS experience.
