Our client has an IMMEDIATE NEED for a Sr SQL DBA with Development Experience for a long term (6 - 12Months+) Located near Jacksonville, FL

 

You need to have atleast 3-5+ years of experience working on Sr SQL DBA with Development Experience

 

This is a contractual opportunity, which is PERFECT for Candidates with solid exp in Sr SQL DBA with Development Experience

 

Role: Sr SQL DBA with Development experience (10+ years of Exp required)

Location: Jacksonville, FL

Duration: 6 Months

Rate: $Negotiable

 

The position will be responsible primarily for two sets of tasks:

 

1. Processing all data requests from Project Managers and System Analysts, Architects. These include, but are not limited to:

a. requests for information (ad hoc queries)

b. master data entry scripts

c. data migrations across environments

d. data corrections after code corrections are applied

e. Conversion queries from old models to new.

 

2. Performing maintenance and monitoring tasks. These include, but are not limited to:

* Monitoring and reporting on business and system performance metrics

* Replication Maintenance

o adding new articles

o Maintaining metadata

o Monitoring for problems

o Reporting on throughput and system impact

* Archiving and purging maintenance

o Adding new processes

o Maintaining metadata

o Monitoring for problems

o Reporting on throughput and system impact

* Index maintenance

o Monitoring optimizations

o Monitoring index usage

o Monitoring for problems

* Data problem resolution

o Researching and correcting timeouts and deadlocks, in conjunction with development teams.

 

Additional tasks may include, as time permits:

a. Query Tuning

b. Database project development

c. Documentation

d. Conducting stress and load testing

The qualifications required for the position include:

* Advanced T-SQL skills (stored procedures, triggers, functions, views), with solid emphasis on performance.

* Advanced query tuning skills, including understanding of DML best practices and ability to interpret query plans.

* Experience working on Enterprise-Level transactional databases with continuous availability

 

Preferred Qualifications include:

* Experience with load and stress testing and with benchmarking processes.

* Technical documentation experience.
