Job Title: Systems Engineer
Location: Franklin, TN
Duration: 3 Months
Responsibilities:
· Works as a team member on complex technical projects and problems.
· Completes assigned technical projects on time (e.g., analysis, designing, development, implementation, testing, monitoring, maintenance, production support, documentation, etc.).
· Occasionally leads peers on projects. Performing project management activities such as planning, sizing, configuration, and scheduling.
· Analyzes problems, develops and implements solutions, and makes decisions that significantly improve system availability.
· Acts as a subject matter expert on assigned systems and products.
· Resolves escalated complex issues within the established timeframes while providing quality customer service.
· Act as on-call support on a rotating basis.
· Ensure areas of responsibility are SOX compliant.
· Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for implementation.
· Proactively monitors and controls all production systems to maximize systems availability.
· Continually works to improve services while maximizing cost effectiveness to the Company and Customer.
· Develop and implement written policies, standards, and guidelines related to areas of responsibility.
· Develop performance metrics and service level agreements that align information technology with the requirements of the business and customer.
· Meet or exceed defined performance metrics and service level agreements.
Experience and Skills:
6+ years of relevant work experience.
Strong technical and analytical skills
PC and desktop applications competency (e.g., Microsoft Office, e-mail, etc.)
In-depth knowledge of information systems concepts
Strong knowledge of applicable methodologies, tools, standards, and procedures
Demonstrated decision-making and leadership abilities
Strong organizational and problem solving abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
3 to 5 years with hands-on experience in the following technologies/protocols:
System and Network troubleshooting
o Windows 2000 and 2003 Server
o Windows clustering
o NAS and SAN technologies (HP and EMC preferred).
o Server consolidation strategies. (Virtualization).
o Backup hardware, software (prefer Galaxy CommVault), and processes.
o Server network configuration and troubleshooting. (TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, NICs)
o Citrix configuration and administration.
o Network Administration (Firewalls, VPN, switches, and Routers).
o System and network monitoring technology.
Experience in developing/managing disaster recovery capability
Experience evaluating and facilitating the recommendation of various solution options,
including creation of a solution base case.
Ability to apply technical solutions to business problems is required.
Experience in an organization with distributed locations and a centralized data center and overall operations would be a plus.
