Position: Middleware Administrator with strong Unix and Web logic Experience

Location: Milwaukee, WI

Duration: 18 months

Rate: 50/hr all inclusive or 1099..we can pay out

Start: tentative on 1/18/10

Interview: in the week ending 1/11/10

 

Middleware Administrator – Infrastructure Development:

 

·         Unix and Weblogic experience are the top skills needed.

·         Anyone with retail and/or e-commerce experience, as well as local to the midwest, will be given preference. 

 

Project Background

Define, build and support the architecture and tools used by application development teams. Work as a liaison between the application development staff and the technical support teams to provide architecture support, standards, production control and application server administration. Assist in identifying and resolving technical issues in both production and nonproduction environments.

Qualifications

·               In-depth knowledge of UNIX environment from an architecture perspective.

·               Korn shell is required; WLST and Perl scripting a plus.

·                   Senior level experience in Application Server Administration - WebLogic and WebSphere.

·               Leadership skills to work with multiple support and application teams.

·               Must display willingness to accept responsibility, take initiative, use good judgment and maintain a positive attitude.

·               Must be able to act decisively and promptly while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

 

Job Responsibilities include:

·         Administer WebLogic and other application server environments for several in-house-developed and vendor-supplied applications.

·         Assist in setting-up/verifying the UNIX application environment.

·         Automate the administration of the application run-time environment where possible.

·         Provide production control support primarily in the UNIX and application server environment.

·         Provide direction and training to application development teams in the UNIX and application server environment.

·         Evaluate software packages, ensuring that they fit within client’s architecture and infrastructure.

·         Provide timely and accurate on-call support for production infrastructure components.

·         Provide training or mentoring to large groups on tools or architecture concepts as needed.
