Skill Set: 

 

 

Based upon business and operational requirements, identify inefficiencies and gaps in proposed Cognos infrastructure . Evaluate existing consolidation plan/strategy and recommend improvements . Review and finalize implementation plan . Install, configure and optimize Cognos 8.4 BI application suite on distribute environment . Perform migration (including upgrade) of BI applications from the two existing BI environments onto new enterprise environment . Upgrade multiple Cognos Transformer cubes/models utilizing 8.4 functionality . Identify metrics for measuring performance of the Cognos infrastructure . Mentor personnel who will be supporting the environment . Perform any other tasks necessary to implementation of new environment. Knowledge & Experience . Experience in leading successful large-scale global enterprise Cognos efforts . Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring, and supporting Cognos BI Suite . Hands-on experience of upgrading Cognos 8 BI suite from versions 8.2 and 8.3 to 8.4, including both relational and multi-dimensional data sources and reporting . Strong technical skills with Cognos administration . Strong background in cube builds against dimensional data as well as relational . Strong understanding of large-scale enterprise data warehousing environments, theories, principles, and practices . Broad based information technology experience . Background with InfoSphere Warehouse a plus . Knowledge and experience of integrating Cognos BI and Enterprise Planning preferred
