Job Title   :  Oracle DBA
Location  :  Champaign, IL
Duration :    6-12 months
Rate         : Open
 
Provide day-to-day support and maintenance for Oracle Databases and services of our applications platform
•Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
•Monitoring different databases, addressing the alerts and taking necessary steps
•Investigate potential problems and issues raised by users
•Performance tuning of SQLs
•Setting up & fine tune database backups
3-5 years previous experience *Have solid Oracle 10g knowledge. Oracle 11g knowledge will be a plus.
*Have solid working knowledge to support very large databases with heavy OLTP and batch activities
*Have expertise in performance monitoring & tuning
*Exceptional troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
*Able to work effectively in high pressure situations
*Able to work independently, to develop tools for database monitoring and maintanence.
*Having strong Unix scripting (Shell/Perl) knowledge
*Having strong working knowledge in HP-UX, Sun and NT platform
 *Working knowledge in DB2, SQL Server & MYSQL
*Knowledge in Goldengate replication and other replication tools is a plus
