Need for FIX Support Specialist in New York.

Title:                 FIX Support Specialist (Consultant)

Location:           New York, NY

Duration:           6 months

Rate:                  50/hr C2C

 

Company Overview:

The world’s largest equity and Options exchange, ISE, is recruiting an experienced FIX Consultant to provide technical and business-related support, advice and assistance to both internal and external stakeholders.

 

Required Skills:

·         10+ years of software support experience, including production support, with at least 3 years working in the financial services industry

·         5+ years of experience supporting the FIX protocol, including the coordination of FIX certification for clients, and working with Testing and Development teams to identify and resolve issues

·         Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other related discipline

·         Experience in debugging and performance tuning high volume, low latency systems

·         Strong software development skills including Java server-side programming, multi-threading, concurrent processing, and sockets programming skills

·         Fast learner, with the ability to rapidly gain an understanding of ISE’s systems and processes

 

General skills:

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills

·         Ability to work effectively on multiple tasks

·         Ability to work with multi-disciplinary business, technical and client representatives

·         Ability to work to strict deadlines with minimal supervision

·         Team player

 

Required Experience:

·         Experience supporting and testing FIX-based systems in an Options trading environment

·         Previous experience working directly with internal groups including Software Quality Management, Product Management and Market Operations

·         Previous experience working directly with technical representatives from client firms

·         Previous experience working for an Options trading firm is highly desirable

·         Previous experience working with CertiFIX is highly desirable
