Summary:

·         Responsible for determining, maintaining, and enhancing existing system architecture. The individual must have a good understanding of systems architecture and best practices for infrastructure upgrades. Receives general direction from the Manager.

 

Responsibilities:

·         Has heavy hands-on coding and testing duties.

·         Will be responsible for liaising with the existing development team to develop core system level interfaces.

·         Responsible for understanding existing system architecture, and redesign key components to meet needs of the platform.

·         This includes the security layer of the applications, legacy J2EE Core components, database connectivity, and core application structure.

 

Qualifications

·         Java Enterprise Edition (EE) –Java Message Service, transaction management, distributed transactions, Java Transaction API (JTA), Java Persistence API (JPA), Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB)

·         Core Java – Java JDK 1.4 & 1.5, JDBC, Collections, JavaBeans, concurrency, multi-threading, etc.

·         Java frameworks - Spring 2.0+, Struts 1.x, Hibernate 3.0+ \

·         Web Services – SOAP, knowledge of web services standards and best practices

·         Extensive experience with the Web Logic application server platform ( versions 7 & 9 )

·         Knowledge of web application security best practices, Java Authentication And Authorization Service(JAAS)

·         Database knowledge – Complex SQL queries, stored procedures, & tuning, database design/modeling skills, MS SQL Server 2000/2008 preferred, Oracle 10g a plus

·         UML, Design Patterns

·         Eclipse, Maven, ANT and source code management tools (IBM Rational Clear case preferred)
