A DBA contractor with 3 years of experience to handle the run time tasks of our MS Sql databases.  Below are the skill requirements and daily duties

 

Solid understanding of Relational database model. Solid knowledge of MS SQL Server as well as it’s tools and utilities. Solid understanding of MS SQL Server maintenance and administration. Minimum 2 years of hands on experience with MS SQL Server database administration (MS SQL Server 2005\2008).Ability to perform Backup restores operation (SSMS or script).SSIS creation and maintenance (SQL Server 2005\2008).  Solid knowledge of TSQL. Knowledge of theses is a plus: MS SQL Server Replication. MS SQL Server Reporting SSRS.MS SQL Server Data warehousing.

Understanding of DR concepts. Daily tasks and responsibilities: Review SQL Server alert and troubleshoot them.

Create new or modify existing database maintenance plans.

Backup and restore databases as needed. Create logins and assign permissions. Run SQL server deployment scripts for user applications. Create modify and troubleshot SSIS packages. Conduct SQL Server installations. Application of SQL Server service packs. Maintain a catalog of all SQL Servers. Conduct daily health checks on SQL servers.
