Must Have Skills:
" 5+ years of strong C++ experience on UNIX environment.
" Strong on core Java,
" Strong on C++ concepts with basic debugging experience,
" Understanding of multithreading,
" Understanding of Websphere Application Server,
" Basic understanding of database (preferably Oracle),
" Working experience on Unix.
" Very strong on communication and interpersonal skills.
" Experience in working with very senior and hands-on client technical experts.
" Experience in working in an agile, non structured, high-velocity development environment (in a little or no documentation environment).
" Be able to take an idea and run with it.
" Proactive in providing ideas for implementation of new product / functionality ideas.
" Experience with developing new products for large-scale enterprise-wide implementation.
Desired Skills:
" Experience working with Oracle (PL/SQL)
Project Details:
" This specific SIO project (total team size: 70 across onsite and offshore) is part of a client relationship where Cognizant's overall team size is 800+ FTEs across onsite and offshore.
" The project manages development, enhancement, and support of 70+ C++/Unix components. These components provide key middle-tier services for client's flagship products (which are on .Net, J2EE, C++).
" Timings: Long hours are sometime required due to project needs and onsite-offshore coordination requirements.
" No traveling expected in this project.
Job Roles / Responsibilities:
" Technical ownership of specific C++/Java/Unix components.
" Responding to and resolving support issues on those components.
" Estimate, design, and implementing changes / enhancements on those components.
" Development of new components, as required.
" Co-ordination with offshore team for completing deliverables.
" Provide technical guidance to offshore team members.
" Work with client technical team to resolve issues, design interfaces, review estimates and options for resolving technical issues.
MUST have EXCELLENT communication skills.
