NEED  Application DBA in Union County, NJ   for  4 month contract

Location :Union County, NJ
Duration:- 4 month contract

 

NEED EAD,GC,OR CITIZEN

Application DBA;  supports the applications; stored procedures, debugs applications & stored procedures, trouble-shoots applications, makes streams & links work, etc
Strong communication skills required.  Will be asked to meet with customers/clients and set expectations.
Must be senior enough to not require hand-holding.
Candidate will liase with internal customers and vendors concerning business requirements for the creation of new applications and databases.  The candidate will need to be proficient in creating/engineering new applications and databases, performance tuning, testing of application enhancements and partition maintenance.  Candidate will be responsible for creation of database guide for transition of support to Application Services team and for developing strategies for re-partitioning of very large tables to enhance performance.
Candidate will manage multiple projects at any given time which includes monitoring existing databases, troubleshooting and resolving problems that may be application related and/or database related.

This position requires an out-of-the box thinker that would not mind hand coding in PL/SQL even though the position does not require hand coding.  Position requires the candidate to have some analytical skills to make recommendations as needed for enhancements.  Excellent communication skills are required as the candidate must have the ability to interface with other areas outside of the DBA team.  Candidate must have the ability to work independently and to develop work instructions for our offshore staff.
Experience dealing with offshore team-members is a plus.

Skill set:
Knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL is required.
Oracle 9i, 10g, and or 11i.
Desired:
MySQL.
Enterprise Manager (OEM).
