Need a Senior Oracle DBA who has some Sql Server exp or Sybase experience with minimum of 9+ years of exp.  

 

Job Title:             Sr. Oracle DBA

Duration:             Long Term

Location:             Appleton WI

 

Qualifications:

• Expertise with Oracle 10g, preferably Oracle 11g

• Must have experience building Oracle RAC from scratch with several nodes

• Expertise with replication technologies, specifically DataGuard and Oracle Streams, to support synchronized database environments

• Experience with very large databases (greater than 5 TB) and 24x7 high availability database environments.

• Demonstrated proficiency of SQL and query optimization.

• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred:

• LINUX system knowledge sufficient to configure, maintain and monitor an Oracle instance(s).

 

Responsibilities:

Administer, create, install, patch and upgrade the various Oracle database(s) (Oracle 10g/11g). Perform core DBA tasks including space management, security and health monitoring. Regular performance tuning (SQL/SGA) and optimization for large OLTP and OLAP environments. Implement schema changes for tables, indexes, synonyms, views, clusters, source types and user types. Participate in the backup/recovery (Physical/Logical/Hot/Cold, RMAN) and disaster recovery for various database instances. Develop scripts to enable reporting, monitoring and manipulation of data in the database(s). Engage and support developers and QA during the SDLC. Documentation and development of procedures and methodologies.

 

' Tune, optimize and monitor the database clusters and instances to achieve optimal performance in meeting defined SLAs (Service Level Agreements).

' Implement various database schema changes in instances and maintain those changes through strict configuration management.

' Assist in the definition and execution of release strategies for versioned changes to roll out across development, staging, pre-production and production tiers.

' Provide direct release management support to development and testing teams for their database needs.
