QA Performance Tester
Manhattan, NY
6 Months

 

Responsibilities:
Work with project management team, technical team and business unit in the requirements gathering process to determine high level designs
The candidate should be responsible for diagnose performance bottlenecks,
Conduct performance tuning, running performance benchmarks and building capacity planning models.
Software Performance Engineer should have a very good understanding of software development and the software testing lifecycle, as well as experience in applying software testing techniques, processes, and tools.
Report the results to the management and team lead in timely matter
Assist the support team in deployment
Other related development tasks in the SDLC

 

Deliverables:
All documentation regarding system and performance tests
Performance matrix
Performance Test Plans & Test Strategy
Detailed Test Cases, test conditions
Test Scripts
Results of test execution

 

Mandatory Skills:
At least 2 years of full-time experience as a quality assurance performance tester. 
Ascertaining performance & scalability requirements for each release
 Conduct performance tuning in different categories: network, system, platform and application
Diagnose complicated performance issues based on analysis of performance tests execution results (Load, Stress, Scalability) and come up with recommendation for solution
 Demonstrated skill in requirements elicitation, analysis and validation
Run performance benchmark tests
Build Capacity Planning/Sizing models
Has diverse experience and interests. Experience with web based application software type as well as a quantitative background.
Ability to see the big picture/system understanding with capability/potential to dive into low level details to support problem isolation
Good understanding of operating systems, esp. memory management, processing and file system structure.
Proven development capabilities in one of the following languages: Java, C++, C.
Experience with working with database: familiarity with the different database entities, familiarity with SQL, DML. Hands on experience with Oracle and MS SQL.
High level understanding of Java/.Net internals (memory heap allocation, garbage collection, caching, connection pooling, etc…)
Good understanding of networking concepts, server-agent communication
Good knowledge and understanding of software testing procedures, practices and tools
Must be able to take strategic direction from executive management and participate in strategic planning activities throughout the lifetime of the project
Must be able to see tasks through to completion without significant guidance.
Must be able to provide documentation on their work
Must be able to work with LoadRunner
Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate to all project members and stakeholders; must be a team player who works well with technical and non-technical resources;

 

Desirable Skills:
A Masters degree in Computer Science, or Mathematics is desired;
Knowledge of BPM Engines and business activity monitoring
Knowledge web services, SOAP UI load script creation
Experienced with formal SDLCs and business analysis methodologies; Working knowledge of business analysis documentation standards;
