Position title: Oracle/SQL DBA

Location: Carson city, NV

Duration: 6 Months

 

Looking for someone who is both Oracle DBA and SQL server DBA and has extensive experience in upgrading the SQL server from 2000 or 2005 to 2008 and Upgrading Oracle from 10 to 11.

They should have done it in few project, should be very good with upgrade.

We canconsider someone who has Oracle upgrade, they should be very good at Upgrade and should have done a few Upgrades.

 

1.         PROJECT OVERVIEW

 

The consultant will provide database administration support as required for the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) Integrated Financial System and Financial Data Warehouse, electronic bidding project and other database support as required and identified within the scope of work.

 

2.         SCOPE OF WORK

 

Consultant must perform all activities to the agreed upon project plan/schedule.

 

2.1          IFS Support – Provide database administration support as required for the NDOT Integrated Financial System and Financial Data Warehouse;

 

2.2          Electronic Bidding – Provide database administration support for the Electronic Bidding project;

 

2.3          Patch Management – Apply database functional and security patches on Oracle and SQL Server databases;

 

2.4          Database Upgrades – Upgrade existing SQL Server database environment to a supported version and assist with the Oracle 10 and Oracle 11 upgrades;

 

2.5          Provide database administration support for the NDOT data repository project; and

 

2.6          Provide database administration support for the upcoming Electronic Documentation project.

 

 

3.         DELIVERABLES

 

Consultant must provide the following based on the agreed upon project plan/schedule.

 

3.1          Continued smooth operation of the IFS and Financial Data Warehouse systems.  Database and operational modifications as required;

 

3.2          Successful implementation of the database portions of the Electronic Bidding System;

 

3.3          Database patches applied within 30 days of release for standard patches.  More frequent patching may be required for critical patches;

 

3.4          Upgraded SQL Server environment to version 2008.  Upgraded Oracle environment to version 11;

 

3.5          Database design, creation, updates, and support for the NDOT data repository project;

 

3.6          Database design, creation, updates, and support for the Electronic Documentation project; and

 

3.7          Bi-weekly status reports to include, but not be limited to:

 

3.7.1           Overall completion status of the project in terms of the approved project plan and schedule;

 

3.7.2           Problems that were encountered and proposed/actual resolutions;

 

3.7.3           Issues that need to be addressed;

 

3.7.4           Accomplishments during the period; and

 

3.7.5           Activities to be accomplished during the next reporting period.
