Position: Senior COGNOS 10 Resource

Location: San Diego

Duration:  5 Months

Rate: DOE

Start date: Immediate

 

Key Role Requirements as follows:

 

·         Significant Cognos 10 experience –proven migration skills from prior versions of Cognos to v10

·         Cognos infrastructure / installation / configuration experience

·         Ability to lead an install / configuration

·         Ability to train / provide on the job guidance to the team in setting up and managing the Cognos 10 server

·         Knowledge of best configuration of hardware and Cognos 10 environments for production environment

 

Other Notes:

 

·         The intent is to have an experience Cognos infrastructure type person who can help lead them in spinning up a new Production Cognos 10 Server to replace the existing Cognos 8 Server which does not support their clients' needs to move to IE8 for reporting

·         They will be purchasing new IBM 3850 server, and will set up the production Cognos 10 server on it, have the app team migrate app and data, then move into production. The previous Prod Server will be moved to a dev / QA / staging server

·         Their server / data / infrastructure team does not have any Congos experience to build the server, and there is no failover today, all changes / maintenance is done on the production Cognos 8 server

·         This is a short term engagement – likely 3 -5 months or however long the upgrade and post install training / configuration takes. This will get extended depending on the configuration.
