Software Engineer I (.Net)

Responsibilities:

• Design multi-layered web application program objects using industry standard design techniques
• Design database objects, tune queries, and be a major contributor to the overall database architecture
• Develop SQL Server T-SQL programs which are tightly integrated with ASP.NET applications.
• Develop multi-tiered web applications using .NET Framework (3.5/4.0), Silverlight (3/4), HTML (4/5), Telerik controls, AJAX, C#, C++, Javascript, web services, Windows Communication Foundation (WCF), and EDMX.  
• Participate in the day-to-day creative decision making about the future of our core applications
• Make significant enhancements to our base application and provide customized client specific solutions
• Analyze business systems requirements and design technical solutions based on those requirements
• Research, design and documentation of custom solutions for client requests
• Design, document and program both products and custom solutions
• Assist in development of test scripts, product builds and installation programs
• Support of existing programs and modules from both debugging and enhancement perspectives
• Participate in code reviews and extensive unit testing
• Writing technical documents as part of established methodology
• Write functional and technical specification documents
• Design, implement and support SQL Server databases

Requirements:

• Must enjoy the challenges and rewards of an interactive small group setting with a growing client base
• Four-year degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, Computer/Electrical Engineering
• Minimum of three years of experience in systems analysis and programming, addressing unique issues of architecture and data management.
• Experience with Visual Studio (2008/2010) development tools, web browser technology (IE or Firefox), version control software (VSS and Team Foundation Server), ASP.NET Framework 3.0/3.5/4.0 using C# coding, web services and IIS (6.1/7.5) technology, HTML3,4 or 5, CSS, AJAX, Silverlight (3/4), EDMX and Javascript , (Powerbuilder (versions 8, 9, 10 / Optional)
• Experience with web user interface design standards implementing both static and dynamic pages
• Experience with automated testing tools to support various levels of automated testing methods
• Design and Development of T-SQL programs
• Understanding of SQL Server 2005 or 2008 engine and use of complementary products such as; SSMS, SSIS, SSAS, Service Broker, and CLR
• Knowledge and experience of all aspects of the software development life-cycle process
• Understanding of Multi-tiered application development/deployment as it relates to the web application
• Proficiency with test tool techniques and technology as it pertains to component, integration, performance and load testing with multi-tiered technology
• Ability to work independently, and as part of a team, on multiple tasks
• Strong planning, communication and technical skills
• Understands complex and advanced database concepts
• Proactive and preventive in problem solving
