Position: Bi Architect

Location: New York

Duration: 3+ months can go for long term

Rate: Open

 

 
The BI Architect must be able to perform both hands-on, front-end development and create a set of templates and standards that other developers can use as a foundation for report and OLAP analytics development. Organize and assign development tasks to others. Design aesthetically pleasing canned reports. Create and maintain documentation that developers from external departments need to create reports. Must have in-depth knowledge of multiple BI tools including knowing how to install and set up the tool, with technical support from the vendor. Must have experience setting up the metadata/domain models that act as the backbone of canned and ad hoc reports. Must have experience building reports, OLAP analytics and dashboards. Must have commanding knowledge of datawarehousing concepts including star schema design and slowly changing dimensions. Must know how to read and write SQL statements of moderate complexity, including the use of analytics functions.
 
The person must have initiative and be able to work with minimal supervision. He or she must also be comfortable creating demo OLAP analytics reports to show off the capabilities of business intelligence to business and sales users who have no experience using such tools.
  
REQUIRED:
- BI architecture and development
- Datawarehousing knowledge and experience
- Good knowledge of Structured Query Language
 
PREFERRED:
- Experience on Jasper and/or Microsoft Sharepoint BI
- In lieu of experience with either tool mentioned above, experience on more than one BI tool
- Experience with financial data (investment banking, not retail banking or insurance)
 
NICE-TO-HAVE:
- Experience with hedge data
- Agile development methodology experience
- Familiarity with advanced analytics/data mining
