Position:Sybase DBA OR DB2 DBA OR SQL Server DBA needed for NYC
Duration: Long term
Location: NYC

Position Description: The Global Distributed DBA team is a close-knit
group of dedicated database support professionals, working in offices
throughout North America, Europe and Asia. We provide firm-wide 24x7
support for Distributed Databases across the following RDBMS
platforms: - Sybase, DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Informix and
Microsoft Analysis Services. We provide container-level support for
all these products and consultation for the main internal-development
db-platforms (Sybase, DB2, and Microsoft SQL Server & Analysis
Services).

Your primary role in the India DBA team will be to provide Operational
Support (day-to-day maintenance and management of the plant) across
the supported database product range, Consultation (advising developer-
community clients on design best practice, performance and tuning
issues) and Engineering (improving and adding functionality to the DBA
infrastructure) disciplines.

Skills Required

•An excellent understanding and knowledge of one or more of the
following relational database technologies: Sybase, DB2 LUW and/or
Microsoft Database Technologies
•A solid understanding of Operating Systems, especially Linux
•Good T-SQL, KSH and/or Perl scripting knowledge
•Good problem solving skills and the ability to multi-task
effectively
•Excellent communication skills (including strong written and spoken
English)

Skills Desired

•Additional interest and/or understanding of Oracle and/or Informix
•Knowledge of other Database Vendor products advantageous
•Knowledge of additional programming/scripting languages such
Powershell, TCL, C, CGI, HTML, JavaScript and PL/SQL would be highly
beneficial
