Position       :          Netezza Database

Location      :          Irving, TX

Duration     :          12+ Months Contract

 

 

 WE NEED IMMEDIATE COVERAGE ON THIS – THIS MANAGER IS READY TO HIRE ASAP!!

 

Department Roles and responsibilities:

* Provide database administration, performance tuning support for GFTS business areas.

* The day-to-day responsibilities are to install, maintain and tune Netezza Database.  The DBA should be capable of working independently as well as operating in a team environment, with a willingness to follow pre-defined IT policies to satisfy our clients. Ability to understand clients needs and suggest solutions and help the clients meet their deadlines.

 

Goals and objectives:

Maintain stability and improve uptime. Meet project deadlines defined by the clients.  Establish and develop new database maintenance scripts with CATE engineering and developemnt teams to automate Netezza database management and monitoring.

 

Competencies:

Technical/business knowledge, experience, and skills (certifications, programming languages, etc.):

* The position requires 3+ years Netezza DBA support experiences.  Knowledge of Oracle and Postgres database is a plus.

* Strong in RedHat Linux cluster configuration, monitoring and scripting.

* Strong database backup/recovery, performance tuning and troubleshooting skills.

* Strong Client Communication skills Team Player On call Production Support (24x7)

* Bachelors degree or higher

* Language requirements (including proficiency levels for speaking, reading, and writing)

* Read and write English and ability to speak the language
