Location: Minneapolis, MN

Duration: 6 months

Rate: $45/hr

 

 

Position Requirements/ Specifications

Education/Experience (to enter position)

·         Lead position requires 7+ years of experience in software quality assurance.  and may include related experience in, project management, and vendor management.

·         Requires 3 – 5 years of leadership experience to include supervising day-to-day work direction to multiple QA Analysts in an off-shore model and coordinating/ testing for medium and large enterprise level projects.

·         Requires a college degree or sufficient related work experience. 

 

Other Responsibilities

·         Provide High-Level QA estimates to the PM at initiation of each project.

·         Refine High-Level QA estimates during progressive stages of each project.

·         Manage, track to and report on QA status throughout the project.

·         Review, sign-off on and/or develop all relevant QA & test artifacts.

·         Communicate test progress, including Risk and Concerns, to Portfolio Managers through the use of Metrics and Scorecards and regular face-to-face updates.

·         Continually enhance one’s own  skills and builds knowledge in all aspects of the organization, the business and information systems.

·         Use the standard QA software tools for defect management and reporting.

 

 

Primary  Responsibilities:

 

Planning and Leadership

·         Supervise and Provide Mentoring and Leadership to QA Resources within their Portfolio and/or QA Team.

·         Assure all project teams’ within assigned Portfolio follow standard QA/Test processes.

·         Engage in resource planning, scheduling, and forecasting: Provide effort and resource estimates to Project Manager, Portfolio Managers and QA Manager for all QA and Testing-related deliverables and Tasks.

·         Assign qualified QA resources to support projects in one’s portfolio team.

·         Collaborate with other areas QA Lead Analysts and within IT to identify and improve testing tools and processes.

 

QA and Testing

·         Review business and software documentation for ambiguity and testability

·         Develop, communicate, and track to the Master Test Plan.

·         Design and develop all necessary functional and system integration test scripts and scenarios.  Documents these appropriately in accordance with Project Methodology Framework (PMF) and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) QA deliverables.

·         Coordinate and execute all testing activities.

·         Manage Defect Process and assist in defect analysis and assignment.

 

Communication & Teamwork

·         Must have excellent interpersonal skills; able to establish, build and maintain relationships with staff and external vendors.

·         Facilitate medium- to large-size group meetings and conduct cross- functional interviews.

·         Prepare and deliver presentations to business and technology partners (e.g. project, application and management teams, certification, etc.) selecting the appropriate approach based on the audience. 

·         Escalate issues as appropriate, work to drive issues to resolution.

·         Solicit and accept constructive feedback.

·         Has the ability to communicate clearly and coordinate work across diverse business and technical teams.

·         Demonstrate a commitment to customer service that is proactive and results-oriented.

 

Coaching & Leadership

·         Give work direction to other QA Analysts on the team.

·         Provide expertise, feedback, coaching and development to one’s QA staff.

·         Ensure compliance with existing project methodology standards.

·         Assist in improving existing testing practices.

Provide constructive feedback about the team to the QA manager
