Position: System Analyst with SQL /ETL background
Location: Bellevue, WA
Duration: 3 - 6 Months
Systems Analyst- Database background
Requirement analysis and documentation.
- Ability to assimilate the holistic view as well the detailed dissection of the business processes
- Collaborate with business to define requirements and recommend optimized solutions
- Interface with the end users to define and document requirements for data, reports, analysis, metadata, training, service levels, data quality, performance and troubleshooting.
- Perform system impact analysis including upstream and downstream impacts, propose solutions and build functional specifications.
- Ability to collaborate with data architects and BI developers to translate requirements into technical specifications
- Determine and validate potential data sources, build validation plan, assisting with or building scripts, executing the scripts, and communicating results in non-production environment
- Plan, facilitate, and participate in working sessions with cross-functional resources
- Ability to conduct peer reviews to solicit feedback on materials created
- Ability to learn, understand and use new technology/tool and willingness to document as well mentor others in the team
Minimum Required Skills / Competencies: - 6-8 years BI analysis experience
- Experience in writing SQL and understanding of ETL Development Tools is a must
- Experience in logical and physical database design and implementation
- Experience using data warehouse or analytic tools for business purposes
- Experience with ad-hoc query development (Crystal Reports, Business Objects, SAS, or other)
- Experience developing reports using a reporting tool or through data extraction queries
-Demonstrates thorough working knowledge of UML documentation of various business process and modeling to build Data Flow Diagrams, Process Models, ER diagrams, Dimensional Data Models, Context Models, Event Modeling, State Modeling, Process decomposition, and Use Case Scenarios
- Demonstrates thorough working knowledge of the system development life cycle and can train others on SDLC concepts
- Good at attention to detail, time management, work prioritization, multi-tasking, estimate tasks, on-time deliverables and task delegation & follow up
- Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on an existing suite of complex applications
- Technical writing skills producing clear and unambiguous deliverables.
