Job Description:

This role is responsible for the application of the Infrastructure Architecture at

the project level, as well as assisting the Director of Infrastructure Architecture in

evaluating new infrastructure technologies for possible integration into the overall

architecture. Through ongoing project interaction, evaluate current architecture

and standards for various technologies, making recommendations for change

where necessary. Work directly with key technology domain leadership in

servers, storage, networking and data center facilities to provide architectural

direction to infrastructure projects. This role will assist in reviewing the IT

project portfolio to assure compliance with Infrastructure architecture, and

furthering awareness of all Infrastructure IT projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide technical design and deployment support on all Infrastructure related architectural

• subjects.

• Serve as backup Infrastructure member on the Architecture Review Board.

• Act as a key infrastructure technical expert, addressing problems of systems integration,

• compatibility and multiple platform integration as they relate to infrastructure.

• Support ongoing development of future infrastructure architecture and

• strategy within the enterprise.

• Assist in early research and deployment of pilot/prototype or early development projects within

• the infrastructure space to identify strengths/weaknesses of proposed new architecture or

• technology.

• Support the Director in the creation and refinement of the architectural process and governance

• mechanisms for the Infrastructure Architecture.

• Support the Director in creation of strong business case artifacts for strategic infrastructure

• investment, in keeping with the organization's plans and strategy.

• Assist the Director in analyzing current state and desired state of the

• Infrastructure Architecture and assist in developing gap analysis and

• migration plans as needed

• Continually analyze technology and card payment industries and market

• trends to determine potential impact upon the enterprise infrastructure.

• Assist the Director in defining the architecture for large and multi-

• technology engagements as they pertain to infrastructure

Working with the Director, guide the infrastructure architecture

implementation, ongoing refinement activities and the development and

execution of communication plans (including training) for infrastructure

architecture standards.

Act as an infrastructure consultant to IT and business leaders in the

development of IT solution for business needs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• BS or MS degree in IT, Engineering or Mathematics or equivalent

• experience

• Five or more years experience as an infrastructure architect in a Fortune

• 500 environment.

• Excellent knowledge of mainframe, open systems, storage, networking and

• facilities technologies

• Strong background in executive presentations and reporting

• Documented ability to identify the need for change, and make

• recommendations in a productive manner to influence change across

• infrastructure teams, processes and technologies

• Experience with High Availability, high volume, transaction processing

• systems in a multi-site environment

• Expert level knowledge of mobile applications and e-Commerce

• applications preferred

• Strong infrastructure engineering and technology life cycle management

• experience

• Expert knowledge of infrastructure and hosting environments (network

• bandwidth utilization, server virtualization & familiarity with multiple

• operating systems, i.e. Z/OS, AIX, RHEL, Windows)

• Proven combination of technical skill and business intelligence required

• Excellent ability to apply consultative approach to all contacts with

• Directors, C-level leaders and IT groups

• Demonstrated ability to assess future technology trends and achieve

• success as an early-adopter

• Strategic, analytical thinker and agent for change with strong problem

• solving, technology, facilitation and presentation skills
