PHP Backend Requirement for Cisco

Location: San Jose, CA

Duration: Long term contract

The key is knowledge of PHP with web services experience (REST, XML)

Responsibilities:

Responsible for providing technical consultation and leadership in the design and development of complex engineering projects

Collaborate with UI teams and platform team.

Design and implement REST based backend APIs for platform resources.

Translate product and user requirements into functional specifications or architectural frameworks

Technical content of design reviews and code walkthroughs

Uses expertise and creativity for innovative product recommendation and solutions

Requirements:

Strong knowledge of Web 2.0 technologies

Expert knowledge of XML, REST, HTTP, shell scripting.

Expertise with Linux, Webserver (Apache, IIS, lighttpd)

Development experience with C/C++ (Not a required skill) and PHP

Ability to manage and deploy server software

Extensive experience with web development and maintenance life cycles

Good understanding of algorithms, data structures, and performance optimization techniques

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and documentation abilities

Self-driven and self-directed

Test driven development experience a big plus

VMWare ESXi experience a plus

Background in networking products and management interfaces a plus

BS Degree in Computer Science or related field

5+ years of hands-on experience
