Role -: Network Engineer

 

Location -: Chicago, IL

 

Rates -: $55-/hr on c2c basis

 

Duration -: 12+ months

 

Interview Type -: Telephonic

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Designs, builds, tests, and maintains wide area and local area network configurations, as well as internal office networks

·         Implements and manages WAN circuits and circuit vendors

·         Designs, installs, implements, maintains, and supports data center core switching networks to support CCC’s computing environment

·         Installs, implements, maintains, and supports information security devices and configuration such as IDS/IPS, load balancers, and firewalls

·         Works with Windows/LAN team to ensure common network services such as DNS and DHCP are implemented and supported

·         Works with customers to design network solutions to support products and product implementations

·         Solves problems related to installation, implementation, maintenance, and operations of network hardware, software, and circuits

·         Serves on cross-functional project teams as the network subject matter expert

·         Provides leadership to project teams during design, implementation, and support activities

·         Documents system designs and related processes

·         Ensures that all operational processes, such as ITIL based service management processes, are followed

·         Provides direction, oversight, and coaching to less senior network team members

·         Understands client’s business, business systems, and impacts of infrastructure on business operations

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

·         7 to 10+ years network experience in a large enterprise systems environment supporting mission-critical systems and applications. Prior experience in full network replacement/upgrade a strong plus.

·         A high degree of demonstrated technical excellence in his/her technical specialty.  Demonstrated experience in managing complex, cross-functional projects. Must have excellent problem solving skills across multiple disciplines. 

·         7-10 years of focused experience with a broad variety of WAN and LAN technologies

·         Expert on CheckPoint Firewall

·         Expert level experience with Cisco switching and routing technologies

·         Expert level experience with F5 BigIP Local Traffic Managers

·         Expert level experience managing frame relay and internet circuit vendors

·         Expert level experience managing network contracts and solid understanding of tariffs and cost models

·         Expert level experience designing and configuring a wide variety of network components to meet business needs

·         Expert level experience with IDS/IPS, load balancers, and firewalls

·         Expert level experience with complex system integration projects

·         Expert level experience with network monitoring and management software, especially Tufin and Orion

·         Expert level experience in disaster recovery plan creation and maintenance

·         Expert level network problem solving and troubleshooting skills

·         Experience with HP switching and routing technologies, particularly the 12500 series, is a strong plus

·         Excellent project management skills

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         Excellent customer relationship skills (internal, external)

·         Cisco or HP network certifications

·         Advanced Cisco or HP network certifications are a plus
