Title: DB2 DBA

Location: MINNEAPOLIS, MN

Duration: 6+ Months contract

Start: ASAP 

 

The Job Description is as follows:

 

Skills Required

• 5-10 years proven experience as DB2 DBA on Linux or AIX, especially with large multi-terabyte databases with DPF.

• Extensive experience with DB2 utilities, such as runstats/load/reorg/etc.

• Experience supporting Business Intelligence data warehouse.

• On-call support rotation.

• Understanding of setting up proper maintenance of db2 databases such as backups, tuning, indexing, capacity planning, alerting etc.

• Good knowledge of one or more of scripting languages: Korn Shell or Bash, Perl, Python. Familiar with both Command Line and GUI.

• Good experience with DB2 query tuning with large data volume.

• Good knowledge of Unix/Linux operating system, SAN storage.

 

Skills Desired:

• Candidate with both operational DBA and application DBA experience is preferred.

• Knowledge of SQL Server related to administration.

• Candidate with advanced SQL knowledge is preferred
