Role: EMC Storage Admin
Location: Rhode Island
Duration: 6+ months
Responsibilities
· Day-to-day operational support of the SAN environment. This will include storage provisioning, problem diagnostics/resolution, storage request processing.
· SAN Zoning / Enabling connectivity for server HBA's to SAN storage.
· Designing and Deploying custom SAN storage configurations and McData/ Brocade and Cisco MDS 9000 series switches.
· Assignment and un-assignment of LUNS to hosts from EMC DMX / VMAX Frames.
· Capacity planning for adding disks into EMC boxes.
· Port provisioning and Fiber pulls for HBA Controllers-utilizing both copper and fiber technologies with QLogic and Emulex HBA's
· Writing shell scripts (sh, csh, Perl) to automate day-to-day System Administration tasks.
· DR / Backup (SNAPs / Clones) / SRDF(S/A) Maintenance.
· Understand and manage RTO/RPO requirements from storage side
Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills:
· 6-8 years of Operational experience in Storage Administration.
· Good Working Experience on backup / DR process and procedures.
· Hands on experience in Solaris, IBM AIX and Redhat Linux operating systems.
· Strong experience with EMC Storage Management tools as ECC, SMC, and Connectrix Manager.
· Experience in zoning best practices performing through EFCM (Enterprise Fabric Connectivity Manager)
· EMC Certification preferable
· Administration of EMC Networker, DPM, TSM, EMC Data Domain and Recover Point.
· Managing and reporting the status of the storage and backup environment including performance, capacity, availability, failure rates, and other performance metrics.
