Spark/Scala/Java/AWS -- McLean,VA -- 6+ Months

Location: McLean,VA

Duration: 6+ Months

Description:

The engineer will be required to work on building products using Java/Scala based spark frameworks for the enterprise. The candidate is required to have a very good working experience on using native cloud tools for building highly resilient and scalable enterprise products.

Technologies:

Data Engineering Skills:

" Java-key skill
" Scala-key skill
" Spark-key skill
" Hadoop (HDFS)-if they do not have Spark, must have Hadoop
" AWS-key skill
o SNS, SQS, Lambda
o EMR
" Web Services

• They are building software that is an orchestration engine in Spark
• Microservices in Docker very nice to have

Required Skills:
" The candidate should have several years' experience of data engineering work, with some specific knowledge on spark/big data frameworks.
" The Candidate should have some experience with java/scala programming and able to employ best practice software engineering patterns.
" The candidate should have some experience with the AWS ecosystem. This includes the ability to architect solutions within the AWS ecosystem, and from a programming perspective it will be very helpful if they are familiar working with the AWS Java SDK. Additionally, AWS certification is preferred.
" Experience with enterprise application design on previous projects would be nice to have.
" Should be able to communicate/work with users and their use cases and be able to translate their business needs into development ready requirements.
" The candidate should be well versed with the API/Micro services architecture and be able to build rest API services
