QA automation lead

Location : Northbrook, IL

Duration: Long term

Responsibilities:

Participate in complex testing efforts on major projects. Create very detailed test plans. Decompose complex requirements. Execute complex test cases and perform 'end to end' system testing. In-charge of regression testing efforts. Work with test automation and performance test engineers to develop test scripts. Analyze and replicate production issues in QA. Provide input into test metrics.

 

Basic:

•     Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution.

•     At least 3-5 years of experience in Test Automation

•     Quality Assurance skills - Test Driven Approach, Writing Cases/Test plan, Execution, Bug Reporting and Validation

 

Preferred:

·         Experience in design and executing automated and manual tests for the verification of software requirements.

·         Experience testing web-based applications, back-end databases and API – experience with JSON a plus

·         Knowledge of SQL, XML, and relational databases (SQL Server)

·         Hands-on development in Python Scripting

·         Experience as object oriented programing is a plus.

·         Experience in testing software products on multiple platforms (Windows OS, Macintosh OS, UNIX/LINUX)

·         Experience in Hudson, Jenkins or other continuous integration environments and TFS, SVN, Git or alternate source control systems.

·         Excellent written and verbal communications skills and be a great team player.

·         Must demonstrate a flexibility to multi task and able to handle multiple priorities at the same time not compromising on Quality levels - Ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines and changing priorities

·         Experience performing code reviews is a plus.

·         Experience with testing and process methodologies (Agile) and documentation techniques.

·         Experience establishing and maintaining traceability

·         Experience in test design of multi-tier/desktop applications and writing automated unit/functional tests is a plus.

·         Knowledge of Agile and TDD methodology is a plus.

·         Knowledge of Big Data is a plus.

·         Ability to work in team in diverse/ multiple stakeholder environment

·         Analytical and troubleshooting skills
