Description:
The resource should be fluent in agile project methodology, have financial institution experience, worked with large data migrations, and have strong experience in large scale initiatives with tight timelines
A seasoned SCRUM Master with financial services and IT implementation experience is required for a large scale data initiative. The initiative is focused on mastering data across the enterprise and involves coordination across multiple business and technology domains. This project has an expedited time frame and thus a key sense of urgency is crucial whilst also maintaining a key focus on delivery.
- Act as Scrum Master for multiple scrum teams across technology and the business with a key focus on optimal delivery in an expedited timeframe
- Work with technology installation teams to fast track multiple toolset installations and sprints.
- Work with the key project members to support short and long-term release planning, and to maintain backlog health in preparation for execution.
- Ensure team is delivering on the project vision and goals, guiding the team throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Facilitate effective and efficient Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, sprint planning and sprint retrospectives. Be adaptable when necessary
- Monitor team velocity and sprint/release progress against the team's commitments and empower the team to self-organize to achieve their goals.
- Identify and remove impediments, control distractions as well as facilitate discussion and conflict resolution.
- Coach and enact continuous improvement within the team to increase the productivity of the team and quality of deliverables.
- Provide support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and lead by example to push towards goals.
- Help the teams converge on consistent capacity and performance metrics. Analyze and present the data in a fashion that helps all stakeholders achieve delivery and business goals.
- Facilitate technical coordination between scrum teams by participating in the "scrum of scrums" and proactively coordinating between inter-related delivery teams.
- Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
Qualifications
- Excellent communications (written & oral), planning, interpersonal and time management skills.
- 5 - 7+ years of experience in working within IT as a Scrum Master
- Deep understanding of AGILE methodology - SCRUM. Understanding of other processes and methodologies to be able to leverage various techniques to provide value to a team/enterprise
- Familiarity with common Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and better development practices. Understanding of backlog tracking, burn down metrics, velocity, and task definition
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field is preferred
- Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or Certified Scrum Professional (CSP)
- Financial Services experience – specifically capital markets
- Relevant experience on working in an hybrid Waterfall / Agile environment.
- Excellent communication skills for all levels of the organization.
- Be self starting, self motivated and has the ability to work within a new team.
- Experience in a stressful and high profile project.
- Proficient in JIRA and MS Project 365
