Job Description: Role: Application Architect · Candidate with a fundamental understanding of the application business processes, responsible for planning, documenting, defining and evaluating technical integration and Migration information for a major application and across application components. · Will assist with mapping of 30+ applications functionality for Data Migration Project. Responsibilities include: · Understand, document, and monitor application layering dependencies (User-Interface, Deployment, Public Interface, Application Domain, Application Infrastructure, Technical Frameworks, and Platforms) and application component dependencies. · Define and direct proof-of-concept tasks for proposed architectural interactions. · Define, plan, propose, and select enabling technologies to support packaged or custom applications. · Define data dependencies within, between, and among various applications and application components. · Define and direct coordination among database instances between, and across, various applications and application components. · Document and maintain technical architecture, application architecture, and technical application architecture diagrams and descriptions, including releases and versions of software. · Document and maintain context diagrams, functional architectures, data architecture · Lead / Participate in technical requirements engineering initiatives. · Coordinate with other architects, project managers, and team leads to ensure the development matches the system model. Qualifications: Education: BE/B.Tech Experience: · Industry: Manufacturing/Industrial Domain Experience Plus IT Consulting Plus Application Architect experience · About 5 years of Manufacturing Domain Experience Plus 10+ years of SAP Functional Consultant experience, plus two or more years of experience managing technical teams as a Development manager / Project manager, or Team lead with one to two experience in Data Migration / carve out projects plus a deep knowledge and understanding of information technology approaches, applications, and architectures, tools, and methodologies plus one to two years of experience as a junior architect, software architect, technical architect or data architect plus a deep knowledge and understanding of information technology approaches, applications, and architectures, tools, and methodologies. Recommended Application Architect Deliverables · Mapping the existing 30+ applications functionality “as much as possible” to the target “Sphere” application functionality · Classify applications as “retain / retire / migrate” based on the functionality mapping and application usage · Agree on Information lifecycle management needs and define the strategy · For Retire bucket –identify the information lifecycle mgmt. requirements and create plan by working along with business / IT owners · For Migrate candidates, determine what needs to be migrated and how much data needs to be migrated vs. archived/ retained
