Job Description:
Commissions System Analyst performs systems analysis, creates functional design document, test requirement documents in fast-paced Commissions, Sales Incentive Management and/or Finance domains. Identifies, evaluates and develops solutions, systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet user requirements. Acts as a liaison between the user community and internal IT resources. This is a technically focused position and is generally seen as a progression from a development or analyst role.
System Analysis
• Has thoroughly demonstrated knowledge of the business processes in the Commissions, Sales Incentive Management space and/or Finance domains.
• Interviews Business Partner end users to determine and document requirements for data integration, interfaces, business rules and reports.
• Translate functional, product, or business requirements into functional / technical specification or use case documents.
• Acts as a liaison between business and development teams, and shepherds projects through the design, build, and test phases.
• Provides analysis support to development and test teams for assigned projects. This can include responding to ad hoc analysis requests and performing system test and defect triage.
• Has thoroughly demonstrated knowledge of the application systems in Commissions, Sales Incentive Management space and/or Finance domains. Can identify, evaluate and define impacts of changes and provide alternatives.
• Understands complex systems and dependencies between upstream and downstream systems. Generally assigned to Enterprise, cross-functional and cross-departmental projects with high complexity and cross-system impacts.
• Has thoroughly demonstrated working knowledge to conceptualize, document and communicate innovative solutions to meet or exceed business objectives.
• Provides input from high-level to detailed estimates for intake, projects, and change requests in area of responsibility.
• Facilitate and participate in working sessions with cross-functional resources.
• Ability to conduct peer reviews to solicit feedback on materials created.
System Testing
• Create Test Plans and Test Requirements Document
• Perform QAT Testing of Technical deliverables.
• Ability to write SQL queries to test results
• Ability to create mock up data for testing.
Minimum Required Skills / Competencies:
• Experience in writing SQL and understanding of ETL Development Tools
• Intermediate knowledge of XML and UML
• Assess the impact of new requirements on an existing suite of complex applications
• MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio)
• Thorough working knowledge of various business process and system modeling tools including: Data Flow Diagrams, Process Models, ER diagrams, Dimensional Data Models, Context Models, Event Modeling, State Modeling, Process decomposition, and Use Case Scenarios
• Thorough working knowledge of the system development life cycle (SDLC) concepts
• Must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Effectively manage time, prioritize work, multi-task across many assignments, create deliverables.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills are required.
• Technical writing skills producing clear and unambiguous deliverables are a must-have
• Ability to handle multiple concurrent activities and projects
Preferred skills:
• Experience working in the Commissions domain and Commissions implementations
• Experience in writing SQL and understanding of ETL Development Tools
