Database Administrator (Sr SQL DBA)
Location: New York, NY
Pay: $DOE/hour on C2C
Duration: 6+months
Job Description:
Specific Responsibilities:
Support Aperture SQL Server database as well as database associated with RFID process
Support data access layers to Aperture and RFID databases including support for views and stored procedures
Build custom database views and procedures to support reporting and ad-hoc query functions
Provide and support data access to users and tools via standard data access methods (e.g. ODBC)
Perform data mining and data analysis
Provide general support for database routines and components within Aperture and RFID databases
Provide database support and development for integration of Aperture and RFID database with each other as well as data consumers and providers (e.g. TAI, Service-now, etc.)
Work with EDC operations teams as well as the vendor to ensure that existing inventory information is successfully migrated to new data repositories
Develop scripts to perform routines to convert existing inventory data into a format usable by Aperture VISTA DCS data loading module.
Work as a member of a development team
Work with the vendor(s) to ensure that the products database components meet the requirements of EDC and their clients
Transfer knowledge to near shore team for processes that can be converted from development mode to support mode
Skills Required Self starter- able to identify where focus is needed and bring clarity to requirements/ overall program.
Strong problem solving / analytical skills
Very good understanding of database functionality
Strong experience working with RDBMS preferably MS SQL Server
Strong database development skills including complex queries, views and stored procedures
Experience with Aperture VISTA a plus
Strung understanding of integrating database components across multiple applications
Ability to manage multiple, concurrent tasks/ deliverables with minimal supervision
Should enjoy fast paced work environment and client focused attitude.
Collaborative capable of working effectively across a variety of IT and Business groups, across regions, roles and able to interact effectively with all levels.
Strong communication skills essential- both verbal and written
Extensive technical knowledge of data centers including IT Technology and Mechanical & Electrical systems
Technical appreciation of Aperture Vista and or RFID technologies would position the candidate well
Skills Desired Minimum 8 Years relevant experience in RDBMS development
Proven track record in vendor/ tool product integration
