Oracle Database Administration in SAP Environment

Experience Level:  8+ Years of Experience

Work Location  : Chicago, IL

Start Date        : 12/03.

 

Technical Competency: Oracle Database Administration in SAP Environment

Job/Role Description: 

•           Sound experience in the administration of Oracle 10g, 11g on UNIX & Windows in environments

•           Sound knowledge in BRTools, SAP Tools and SAP Transactions

•           Sound Knowledge in Dataguard or Physical Standby databases.

•           Sound Knowledge in database compression and partitioning

•           Sound experience in binary install, database creation and setting up backups.

•           Sound knowledge of Backup and Recovery

•           Sound experience in performance tuning including SQL, DB parameter tuning.

•           Good in UNIX shell   awk and perl scripting.

•           Good experience in applying Oracle patches and upgrades in SAP environment.

•           Sound knowledge and experience in cloning databases and migrating databases between platforms is mandatory

•           Good knowledge of Change Management process and Configuration Management is required

•           Good understanding of Disaster Recovery solutions including designing, configuring and ongoing support is preferred

•           Good oral and written Communication Skills, especially in communicating with the customer and escalating issues is desired

•           24x7 Production Support experience and willingness to provide 24x7 support preferred

•           Good troubleshooting skills and ability to display analytical thinking for problem solving is preferred

•           Knowledge of ITIL
