MQ Broker

Location: Boca Raton,  FL

 

Summary:  Develops, designs, maintains, tests, installs, and provides high-level support on system software.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Under general direction, provide technical expertise in the development of design and functional specifications.
  • Code, test, and debug new software, as well as perform maintenance and enhancements to existing software.
  • Produce deliverables related to assigned project(s).
  • Assist in post-implementation support and system enhancements.
  • Assist in training less-experienced software development team members.
  • Work with the technical team to identify, assess, and correct application issues.
  • Possess a good understanding of multiple business applications, as well as experience in minicomputer or client/server environments including, but not limited to, the implementation and support of resource planning, sales automation, marketing, finance, and distribution systems.
  • As applicable, may assist in the development/support of software user manuals and test plans.
  • Performs high-level design and development of business systems software and web apps, (ETL, BI, EAI) components and interfaces, as well as database layer work of complex tasks and projects. 
  • Collaborates with team members to resolve complex issues to assure the successful delivery of IT solutions. 
  • Lead teams in testing and quality assurance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

Education:  Four (4) year degree or equivalent experience 

 

Experience: 3 - 5 yrs                                   

 

Skills:

 

MQ/Broker Development

 

·         Use various WebSphere Message facilities and external tools for testing and debugging message flows

·         Describe the function and appropriate usage of various message processing nodes

·         Choose the appropriate transformation option for a task and skills profile

·         Transform messages by using mappings

·         Use problem determination aids to diagnose and solve development and runtime errors

·         Create and work with the self-defining Extended Markup Language (XML), predefined, and undefined data formats

·         Generate message flows from predefined patterns

·         Describe supported transport protocols and how to invoke them in message flows

 

MQ/Broker Administration

 

·         Configuring the installed Message Broker environment by using the WebSphere Message Broker Toolkit, WebSphere Message Broker Explorer, and command-line interfaces

·         Creating and configuring a broker

·         Ensuring the efficient operation of a broker

·         Backing up and restoring the WebSphere Message Broker environment

·         Configuring security parameters

·         Using tracing and debugging tools for problem determination and resolution

·         Perform customization and administration tasks

·         Enable a queue manager to exchange messages with another queue manager

·         Enable a queue manager to support a WebSphere MQ client

·         Implement basic restart and recovery procedures

·         Perform basic problem determination

·         Plan for and implement basic WebSphere MQ security features

·         Configure dead letter queue handling

·         Implement WebSphere MQ high availability

 

 

 

Required Technologies:

·         WebSphere MQ 6.x and 7.x

·         WebSphere Message Broker 8.x and 6.x

·         Web services, SOA, ESB

·         SOAP, XML, XSLT

·         Databases: Oracle 9i/10g, Microsoft SQL Server

 

Desired Industry Certifications:

·         Certification in IBM WebSphere Message Broker

·         Certification in IBM WebSphere MQ

·         Sun Certified Java Programmer
