Job Description -
The DTCC ADM Senior Application Architect (SAA) applies a broad and deep technical knowledge in order to design, construct, and improve critical systems. The SAA will participate from the very early stages of an initiative, working with the business, Functional Architects, and subject matter experts on related systems, to propose solutions that solve the business’ problems. This involves working with the Domain Application Architect, other SAAs, and technical contributors at all levels, to make well-informed solution and improvement recommendations. This position provides leadership and guidance to teams and the business through all phases of projects, including post-deployment support for adoption by users. This means assisting in the development of, and analyzing business processes, participating in application design, supporting development teams, testing, and service introduction to clients. The SAA must possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to describe technical solutions in the terms of the business. This position requires working closely with the functional and governance functions, reviewing and interpreting functional and technical designs and specifications, estimating costs and producing schedules.
Knowledge & Skills: Assists in technology selection decisions; manages technology risk for the project team Works with Infrastructure partners to stand up development, testing, and production environments Works with Infrastructure partners to choose optimal hosting environment Works with the Functional Architect to ensure that non-functional requirements are complete and appropriate Ensures physical data model supports the performance, privacy and security requirements Designs Frameworks that promote concepts of isolation, extensibility, and extendibility Proposes solutions that satisfy performance requirements; ensures test strategy validates performance requirements; tunes application performance issues Understands corporate info. security standards; ensures test plans validate security requirements Recommends and promotes technical solutions that are consistent with corporate standards Develops and maintains system documentation Maintains professional and technical knowledge by through continuing education; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies and industry groups Demonstrates advanced analytical skills Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills Can effectively communicate and coordinate across multiple technical disciplines such as database, object-oriented, Web Front end and Mainframe. Can manage outsourced efforts including offshore resources. Strong knowledge of J2EE, STRUTS, Java, RAD 7.5 or higher. Strong knowledge of DB2, DB2 Stored Procedures, database tuning Strong knowledge of MQ. Strong technical troubleshoot skills Strong overall knowledge of architecture and security standards Knowledge of COBOL a Plus Education, Training &/or Certification Experience: Minimum of 9 years experience in application development and system analysis Degree in a technical discipline or related experience preferred |
