Job: Business Object Developer
Location: Hopkins,MN

This individual needs to not only be strong on the technical aspects (SAP BW & BO) of the role but also needs to be business partnering. Strong communication skills to interact with the business to communicate questions/answers from a development and business point-of-view. This person will need to thrive in an ambiguous & agile environment with the ability to think thru the best options/solutions.
Senior Business Intelligence Developer
The Senior Business Intelligence Developer is responsible for determining specifications, designing, developing and deploying technical components of the BI Solution. This position is responsible for understanding the business, functional, and customer requirements to analyze and design technical solutions. This position utilizes established development methodologies (strategies, positions, patterns, development standards, integration, documentation, and testing) to manage the product development lifecycle. The Senior Business Intelligence Developer may also be responsible for troubleshooting complex incidents related to development..
Principal Responsibilities:
Design and Development
Work with businesses, process owners, and teammates to understand and drive solutions which solve business problems. This may include gathering requirements, prototyping potential solutions, or modifying
existing work to meet new or changing needs through the use of development standards, processes, and tools available to the team.
Enabling ad-hoc/self-service BI solutions through various solutions
Build or modify appropriate documentation as defined by team standards. This will include assuring that the solution is supportable and the knowledge is transferred to the support team
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience in analysis, technical design and development.
3+ years of experience with both Waterfall and Agile development processes
2+ years of experience working in a project environment
2+ years of experience deploying solutions through formal change control processes
Business fluency in English
Strong strategic thinking, prioritization, and problem solving skills in ambiguous and changing environments
An ability to work with business and process owners to translate their requests and problems into a technical model or solution
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven skills demonstrating a high level of customer service in providing accurate information and presentation of analysis and proposed solutions
Data analysis and visualization
Ability to work well in cross-functional teams and foster team commitment to tasks
Understanding of using structured data, dimensional models or cubes and various forms of ETL for reporting
3+ years developing in at least 2 of the following SAP Business Objects technologies: BEX, Webi, and Dashboards
3+ years of BI modeling in SAP BW
Experience in Dimensional and Entity-Relational data modeling and OLAP
Preferred:
Experience developing on SAP HANA
Experience working with organizing Big Data in a presentable fashion for analytics or reporting purposes
Skills building tables/views or data warehousing on Oracle or MS SQL Server environments
Skills and/or experience developing database programming on Oracle or MS SQL Server
