Job: 2 Hadoop Engineers.
Location : Littleton, CO.
Duration: 12+ month contract
Will set up interviews immediately and can have someone start right away.
Their tasks will include:
Programming Tasks
Creating reports with Splunk Hunk sourced from HDFS data
Working with MapRDB and TSDB for time series reporting
Configuring Hive schema
Beginner level Spark experience
Basic understanding of how to apply map/reduce to problems
1) MapR experience with 4.x
2) Completed MapR admin & developer courses
3) Experience with Flume, SILK/ELK stack
4) Basic Splunk experience, writing reports
5) Experience with installation/upgrade of MapR clusters
6) Experience with Impala, Hive, Hue, Hunk, Pig, Ozzie
7) Strong Linux skills (Centos, RHEL, Fedora)
8) Experience setting up MapR-FS and quota's
9) Experience writing Map Reduce algorithms (this is less important)
10) Predictive analytics experience a plus
11) Shell/Python scripting a plus
Admin Tasks
Upgrade of MapR clusters
Adding users/groups/quota's
Installing additional tools like Spark
Setting up Flume in HA mode
Configuring Flume, Logstash and other tools to get data into Hadoop
Working with the network organization to open firewall requests
Deep knowledge of networking including layer 2 at a minimum, layer 3 very helpful
VMWare, KVM, Linux required
