Role  : Senior Performance Test Engineer

Location: San Francisco

Rate : Best

Duration : 6-12 Months

 

Responsibilities:

* Identify and develop relationships with key individuals and groups

* Provider leadership, Mentoring  and technical oversight within team

* Maintain current and accurate status of team work assignments

* Understand functional content of assigned release/projects and the potential performance impacts

* Understand and validate performance test objectives

* Optimize test cycle efficiency  and effectiveness using automation

* Maintain a working knowledge of test environment logical and physical software and hardware architectures

* Ensure application of performance testing best practices at an individual and team level

* Analyze performance test results and share with business, development and internal team members as appropriate

* Design and implement the technical infrastructure for performance test automation for each project

* Maintain the performance test automation environment

* Investigate and troubleshoot performance problems in the performance testing environments

* Utilize performance/load testing methodologies to identify software optimization opportunities, potential system bottlenecks and performance problems

* Monitor and gather the performance statistics during the test execution

* Create performance documents/artifacts: test plans, test designs, test cases and present testing summary reports

* Collaborate with performance testing leads, managers, and test members to identify and automate performance tests for specified applications

* Translate performance specifications/requirements/criteria into effective test designs and test cases

* Participate in up front application and technology requirement gathering, design and functionality reviews when required, to drive the quantitative definition of performance requirements

* Participate in the creation and review of performance testing plans, partitioning, test designs and test automation code

* Install, support, understand, and use the performance testing tools effectively

* Investigate and troubleshoot performance problems in a lab environment. This will also include analysis of performance problems in a production environment

* Develop test scenarios to properly load / stress the system in a lab environment and monitor / debug performance & stability problems. This would require monitoring and debugging technical components including key resources, performance indicators and logs

* Identify performance test data and coordinate the load of the data in the performance environment.

 

 

Qualifications

* 10+ years' experience in the performance testing and engineering discipline

* 7+ years' experience with HP quality and performance test toolset (ALM, QC, LR, QTP, and Performance Center)

* 7+ years' experience with various monitoring technologies (SiteScope, BMC,  Perfmon, Opnet, Tivoli)

* Proven ability to perform profile/baseline, load and stress testing

* Proven ability to drill down into results and complete deep dive root cause analysis

* Proven experience and best practices in requirements management, test case development, test analysis and reporting results
