Duration: 12 months
Seeking a senior Microsoft Architect to provide Microsoft Windows platform management, configuration, design, and training for a large global environment.
Tasks and Activities
- Maintain, secure and update Active Directory
- Troubleshoot/resolve hardware, software, and network issues with Windows systems as needed
- Monitor Windows server performance and availability
- Address operational systems issues including file and share permissions, user accounts and installing applications
- Promote and maintain server patch management practices
- Provide metrics for capacity management purposes
- Monitor server load and implement load balancing when needed
- Identify, upgrade and replace server hardware where appropriate
- Conduct periodic HA/DR planning exercises as required
- Manage LDAP authentication and delegation rights
- Manage and participate in projects as assigned and work with team members across the company to deliver project goals.
- Research and evaluate new technologies and present recommendations and justifications on hardware and software purchases
- Resolve assigned trouble tickets and maintain accurate status in FXCM's ticketing systems
- Ensure that all security requirements are met or exceeded
- Document technical designs and procedures
- Communicate information through effective written and oral communication and presentations
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- 5+ years' hands-on Windows system administration experience in a distributed environment. Must have Microsoft 365 in a global setting.
- 5+ years' experience designing and implementing projects including Active Directory, Microsoft server clustering using Windows 2008/2012 Server, Windows DFS, Remote Desktop Services
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Windows servers and related technologies
- Knowledge and understanding of network applications, web servers, email servers, firewalls, databases, file shares and print servers
- Experience with AD replication topology, IPSec services, and AD-Exchange integration
- Best Practices for AD redundancy design and naming standards, DNS and WINS design
- Experience in preparing SLA's, policies, escalation and maintenance procedures for servers and related peripherals
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Applications and Services (including, WSUS, IIS, FTP, DNS, DFS, TCP/IP, DHCP, SNMP)
- Working knowledge of scripting, ability to write login scripts, Powershell commands and Microsoft group policy objects
- Candidate must be self-directed and capable of working on several projects and efforts simultaneously.
