Job Title: Data Science Analyst
Location: Legacy Parkway, Plano, TX (Local preferred)
Duration: 11 Months starting 4/16/18

At that time, he needed someone to come on board and work with his team to do end to end development extracting data and building dashboards from scratch. Nothing was in place then…now it looks like they need a candidate also working with data analytics as well as dashboards. SPOTFIRE and ALTERYX were his hot buttons then.
The candidate will work 70% with members of his team and 30% with the business users...so needs to have good communication. Last year the hot buttons were Spotfire and Alteryx.

Job Specific Information:
This position will support the Retail Analytics & Infrastructure team in the Retail Marketing division. Retail Analytics team is dedicated to support Retail Strategy and Execution by providing best-in-class data driven business decision making capabilities through quality driven analysis, speed to market solutions and superior customer experience. The successful candidate for this position will serve a key role in the areas of retail business performance management:
Trend Analysis and Customer Analytics
BI Dashboards and Visualization enhancements
Data management
Specific responsibilities include:
Design and develop sophisticated statistical and quantitative approaches, databases, and models for analysis using advanced technical skills and extensive knowledge of enterprise level customer and revenue data
Lead development of the visualization interfaces by using advanced technology for efficient dissemination of the complex information to large groups of users across the enterprise
Retrieve and analyze large amounts of data from various data warehouses for decision making using advanced data manipulation, forecasting techniques and predictive modeling
Responsible for writing programs to maintain and control computer systems software for operating systems, networked systems, and database systems.
Responsible for creating the software platform, and then fine-tuning the final program after it has been made.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree/equivalent in Computer Science, MIS or related discipline. MS preferred.
5 years' experience in systems development and the skills/platform/environment requested by management
Software: SAS, Python, R, SQL, Alteryx
Visualization: Spotfire, Tableau, Excel
Databases: Oracle, Teradata, Hadoop
Skills and Competencies:
Excellent human relations (customer service and interpersonal), communication (verbal and written), planning and project management skills
Strong data analytics, data mining and data science experience
Strong programming skills in one or more programming languages - SAS, Python, R, SQL and proficiency in RDBMS, Hadoop, Spotfire, Tableau, Alteryx.
Full working knowledge of program design, application development methodology, and language/package.
Ability to convey complex analytics in a understandable way to non-executive and executive levels
Proven critical thinking, problem solving, quantitative and analytical skills
Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issues.
