Job Title: Network Security Engineer
Location: Plano, TX
Duration: 12+ Months
Required Skills: 6+ years of industry experience, with rich knowledge and solid experiences in data communications systems or web-based applications. 3+ years working as a security expert in an OpenStack environment. Proven experience coding in Linux, Java and Puppet. Current up to date Security certification such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, or CRISC required Motivated self-starter with a passion and drive to start and complete projects. Strong customer facing, customer service skills. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Strong mathematical and calculation skills. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and quality of work.
Desired Skills:
Prior experience with Network Function Virtualization (NFV) architecture and orchestration, and software defined networking (SDN) a real plus. Experienced in IT security techniques such as RBAC, IAM, Mech ID, SSL Certificates, and Firewalls. Prior security NOC experience is a plus.
Job Description:
The Network Security Engineer develops, tests and integrates network or application security architectures within OpenStack virtualized network function environments, data center infrastructures, and mission-critical applications. Tasks can include security scans, evaluation of new software loads, pen testing for vulnerabilities and remediation in coordination with development department. The successful applicant is an organized, proactive and self-starter, with strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
Education: Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or an equivalent degree (e.g. Math, Network Technology, Electrical Engineering, etc.) that is supplemented with security certifications and on-the-job training.
