The Sr Report Developer requires at least 5+ years of experience in report development, data analysis and is proficient in SQL query writing, SSIS, and SSRS. A strong background in business analysis, experience with Tableau or similar analytical tool is required. The role will be responsible to collect, summarize, analyze data and provide solutions for departmental reporting needs.
As a Senior Report Developer, you will be performing data validation to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of analytical reports. This role will also be required to design and automate reports for efficient and timely dissemination to the business units. We are basically looking for strong SQL savvy IT candidates with good data analysis skills, good communication, and strong report writing skills.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development lifecycle including gathering and understating of requirements, database and report development using SQL Server 2008, 2012
- Develop stored procedures for use in analysis and reporting
- Develop and maintain dashboards, and schedule, distribute, and run reports
- Perform source data analysis, data discovery, and data profiling
- Knowledge of building dashboard, scorecards, and KPI's using Tableau or similar tool.
- Create queries to provide ad hoc reports, analysis, and datasets based on business needs.
- Troubleshoot data issues, validate result sets, recommend and implement process improvements.
- Develop database views to extract data via a consistent means for ETL processes using SSIS
- Analyze existing complex systems to understand and document data elements, relationships, data flow, dependencies and their related interfaces
- Gather business and technical requirements, write high-quality requirements documents. Analyzing reporting business requirements and translating them into technical solutions
- Work with Infrastructure team on user access, server administration and troubleshooting reporting environment
- Perform Unit testing and resolve defects
- Good problem-solving skills, performance-tuning and troubleshooting skills
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in the following skill sets:
- SQL Server 2008 / 2008 R2 / 2012 / 2014 Database Development
- Generate complex queries for reporting purposes.
- SSIS – Integration Services- Design / Develop and troubleshoot SSIS Packages
- SSRS – Reporting Services- Design / Develop Customized Reports / Dashboards and Manage Subscriptions / Delivery Methods
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent related experience
- 5+ years of experience in developing reports
- 3+ years reporting experience building visualizations/dashboards based upon large data sets and complex queries in Tableau or similar toolset.
- Experience building cubes in SSAS (preferred but not required)
- Good knowledge of standard concepts, best practices, and procedures within a Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence environment.
- Proven track record of driving rapid prototyping and design
- Strong knowledge of data visualization
- Experience connecting all type of data sources, and the ability to handle a large number of data sets
- Experience designing complex dashboards that take advantage of many functions, including data blending, actions, and parameters.
- Experience working with key performance indicators and metrics development
