Job Description:-
Development Engineer - Mid
Assignment Description
. Develop and test code to deliver functionality that meets the overall business strategy and objectives
. Build the work needed to implement features from the product backlog
. Size user stories
. Unit test code, create automated test scripts, and execute all other testing-related tasks
. Test deliverables against a user story's acceptance tests
. Execute necessary project documentation
. Work closely with other team to ensure that features meet business needs
. Follow industry-standard agile software design methodology for development and documentation
. Work with infrastructure, security, and other partners
. 3-5 years in an engineering role
. 1-3 years participating in agile development
. Scrum certification, a plus
. Experience with test-driven development and software test automation
. Deep experience working in an agile environment (e.g. user stories, iterative development, etc.)
Skills
Hadoop, Hive, Kafka, ETL, SQL, Python
DB: Oracle/Exadata, SQL
Support skills: ETL, Mainframe
Nice to have - Python, Java
Ability to work in an Agile, DevOps, global model
Client interaction and communication skills
Knowledge of Agile methodologies
Good exposure to Unit testing + Code Coverage.
Additional Information
The manager has provided the following information:
---Specific core technologies: Development in Hadoop (primary), supporting existing processes which are in Datastage and UDB (secondary)
---Top technologies: Hadoop ecosystem (Oozie workflow, Hive, Spark, Tez, SQL, HQL), Paython/Java, experience on Shell Scripts / CI-CD
---Skills that would be nice to have: basic skill set on Kafta/API and its streaming tools, basic experience on various databases (ex. Postgress)
---Associated project/desired outcome: resource will work in development and support of migration from Datastage to Hadoop in the company's credit area portfolio
---The state of the initiative in its current lifecycle: migration work is in final phase and then will start new development as per business reporting need
